Service Engineer
1. What To Expect:
We are looking for a Service Engineer to join our US operations in Akron, Ohio.
X-RIS (X-Ray Imaging Solutions) is a pioneering company based in Belgium, specializing in industrial digital radiography. Founded in 2010, the company has built a strong reputation in the field of industrial non-destructive testing. We design and market X-ray generators and detectors, electromechanical equipment, advanced user-friendly software solutions, as well as standard and customized systems.
X-RIS has over 47 employees and now reports a turnover exceeding 10 million euros, demonstrating its steady growth and excellence in the field. Our company continues to grow with the recent expansion into the U.S. NDT market through the opening of a site in Akron, Ohio. Looking firmly towards the future, X-RIS is seeking to expand its team.
2. What You’ll Bring:
- US citizenship required: must be eligible for security clearance and able to obtain a U.S. passport.
- Associate/bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or 5 years of experience as an alternative to a degree.
- 2–5 years’ experience servicing medical or industrial X-ray components.
- PLC troubleshooting, Siemens, Festo and control systems knowledge strongly preferred.
- Advanced electro-mechanical troubleshooting abilities as well as strong mechanical aptitudes.
- Existing knowledge or the ability to learn robotic programming (ABB, Kuka, Fanuc).
- Familiarity working with X-ray generators (Gulmay, Spellman, Comet).
- Strong communicator — thrives in both face-to-face and remote collaborative settings.
- Fast learner with a demonstrated ability to retain and apply technical knowledge.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing expense reporting independently.
- Confident in Windows OS environments: software installation, user administration, network IP address configurations.
- X-ray imaging experience welcomed.
- French language skills are not required, but may be considered an advantage.
- Military experience with electro-mechanical skills is also welcomed.
3. What You’ll Do:
- Operations will be based in Akron, Ohio with national and international travel requirements ranging from 30-50%.
- Promote and manage an after-sales service program for all US customer installations.
- Perform preventive maintenance programs for US installations.
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on X-ray equipment.
- Remote technical support by phone and computer.
- Learn the basics of digital X-ray operations for service support purposes.
- Factory training in Europe (Belgium) for a period of up to 60 days.
